Centrum Holdings Appoints Andreas Demuth to the Role of CEO

Centrum Holdings, a leading internet media company in the Central and Eastern European region (CEE), today announced the appointment of Andreas Demuth as CEO. Effective January 1st 2010, he will be responsible for overall operations in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Croatia.

Commenting on the appointment, Robert Feuer, Managing Director at majority shareholder Warburg Pincus said, “I am very pleased that Andreas is joining our team as CEO, his managerial skills, international experience, and his expertise within the Internet industry, will be invaluable as we work to bring the company to the next level."

Demuth joins the company from AOL where he most recently served as Managing Director at AOL Germany, and as Vice President Strategic Partner Management at AOL Europe. He commented, “I am very excited to be joining Centrum Holdings and look forward to leading the company into its next phase of development, as we continue to build the leading regional Internet media group.” Of departing CEO Pavel Mucha, who is leaving to pursue other business interests, Robert Feuer had this to say, “I would like to thank Pavel Mucha for successfully leading Centrum through a period of intensive acquisition and post-merger integration, and helping to transform Centrum into the leading media group it is today.”

Before his time at AOL, Demuth served as General Manager at Bertelsmann Financial Services Ltd. in Ireland (1996-1999) and Business Development Manager, Bertelsmann Services (1994-1996). He completed his graduate studies in economics with honors at the University of Bonn where he focused on economic theory, finance and M&A / Consulting.
